How to Visit the Lucas County Corrections Center

The Lucas County Corrections Center offers non-contact video visitation for all inmates and their visitors. Contact visitation is not an option.

  1. You must be listed on an inmate’s approved visitor list before you can schedule a visit.
  2. All inmate visits are by appointment only on a first-come, first-served basis. No walk-ins will be allowed. Visits can be scheduled by calling 419-213-4863 no sooner than six days and no later than one day before the visit is to take place. (Because there are no visits on Sunday or Monday, Tuesday visits must be arranged by Saturday.) If you reach the Correction Center’s voice mail, please leave your name, name of inmate, proper spelling of both names, your date of birth, your Social Security number, a phone number where you can be reached, and the time and day you want to visit. The visitation counselor will return your call to confirm your visit within 24 hours, except Sunday and Monday. If the visitor speaks to a live person on the phone, no confirmation call will be made.
  3. A complete warrant check will be done on each visitor. Visitors with active warrants will not be allowed to visit.
  4. You must arrive in the front lobby of the Corrections Center 10 minutes before your scheduled visit. Be prepared to show photo identification before the visit can take place.

When to Visit

Inmates are allowed one 30-minute visit per week, Tuesday through Saturday. The schedule is as follows:

  • 10-10:30 a.m.
  • 10:40-11:10 a.m.
  • 11:20-11:50 a.m.
  • Noon-12:30 p.m.
  • 12:40-1:10 p.m.
  • 1:20-1:50 p.m.
  • 2-2:30 p.m.
  • 2:40-3:10 p.m.

Who Can Visit

One adult may visit an inmate at one time. However, two adults may visit an inmate if they are the inmate’s parents or grandparents. Children age 17 or under may visit an inmate if accompanied by a parent or legal custodian/guardian. No more than two people may visit an inmate at one time under any circ*mstances.

Visitation Rules

Jail staff will end your visit and may deny future visits if you violate any of these visitor rules:

  1. Check in with visitation counselor and show an official, acceptable picture ID. Adults visiting with a child must present a birth certificate or proper photo identification for the child.
  2. Abide by dress standards and requirements.
  3. Behave in a manner that does not threaten the safety, security and order of the Corrections Center.
  4. Do not leave children unattended in the lobby or on the front steps at any time. Do not leave your children alone or with a stranger or anyone younger than 18 years of age. Jail staff will not care for your children. Children age 12 or younger must be supervised at all times. Children are not to be left in a vehicle without adult supervision. Disobedient children and their parent/guardian will be asked to leave.
  5. Anyone who is under the visible influence of alcohol or drugs will not be permitted to visit.
  6. Follow the directions of visitation officers and jail staff at all times.
  7. Do not tamper with, damage, mark or soil the visitation cameras, monitors or handsets or any jail property. Violators of this rule may be subject to arrest and/or prosecution.
  8. Do not attempt to bring contraband into the building or visiting area. If you do, you are subject to arrest and/or prosecution. (Contraband is anything jail staff has not authorized or issued, such as weapons, drugs, tobacco, lighters, food, papers or sharp objects.)
  9. A visitor may only visit with one inmate at a time. No cross-visiting is allowed.
  10. No smoking, food or beverages are allowed in the visitation area.

Dress Standards for Visitors

Because the jail houses a wide variety of personalities, jail staff will deny a visit if sexually suggestive or inappropriate clothing is worn. Clothing may be considered sexually suggestive if it exposes an undue amount of skin on the back, chest, thighs, shoulders or midsection. This includes short shorts, skirts and dresses; dresses or skirts with high slits; tank tops, tube tops, halter tops; or clothing with plunging or low-cut necklines. Tight-fitting or see-through clothing or sheer and loose-weave fabrics may be considered to be sexually suggestive. The absence of undergarments also may be considered to be sexually suggestive.

Shoes must be worn at all times. No clothing or insignias with language, symbols or markings that indicate a criminal gang may be worn. No clothing that contains derogatory comments or slurs directed at a class of people or that may otherwise disrupt jail order or place a person’s safety at risk may be worn.

Property/Medication Drop Offs

A valid form of identification is always required when anyone wishes to drop off the following items, including but not limited to:

  • Medications (The LCSO Medical Services staff will not accept narcotics, mixed pill bottles, or prescriptions over 90 days old)
  • Prescription Eye Glasses/Contact Lenses (no cases are permitted for eyeglasses)
  • Medical Braces (Requires Doctor Approval)
  • Orthopedic Shoes (Requires Doctor Approval)
  • Court Clothing
